Terms
Terms of use
Last updated 19 October 2026 · Whetū Labs, Canterbury, New Zealand · hello@whetulabs.nz
These terms cover this website and every Whetū Labs app. Where an app has its own terms page, that page adds the details for that app. By using our apps you agree to these terms.
Using our apps
You're welcome to use our apps for yourself, your household, your team or your venue. Please don't misuse them – for example by trying to break their security, overload them, or copy and resell them.
Free apps and features
Free apps and free features are provided as they are. We work to keep them running well, but we may change, improve or retire features over time.
Paid features
- Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.
- One-off unlocks are linked to the email you sign in with and work on any device where you sign in with it.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Free trials turn into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
- Payments are processed by Stripe.
Refunds and your consumer rights
If something you've paid for doesn't work as described, we'll fix it, or refund you. If you're not happy with a purchase for any other reason, email hello@whetulabs.nz within 14 days and we'll do our best to sort it out. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If you buy for business purposes, you agree the Consumer Guarantees Act doesn't apply, as far as the law allows.
Your content
What you create or enter – recordings, lists, scores, notes, photos – is yours. You give us permission to store it only so the app can do what you asked, such as syncing it to your other devices.
Other people's content
Some apps show music, videos, pictures or information from other services. That content belongs to its owners and is shown under their terms.
Important limits
- Health and wellbeing apps give general information only – they aren't medical advice. Talk to your doctor before changing your diet, medication or exercise.
- Plant identification can be wrong. Never eat, touch or use a plant based on what an app says.
- Venue apps help staff with tasks such as ID checks and records. The venue stays responsible for meeting its licence conditions and the law.
If an app changes or closes
If we close a paid app or remove a paid feature, we'll give you reasonable notice and refund any unused part of a subscription.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Whetū Labs isn't liable for indirect loss, or for loss from an app being unavailable or from data stored only on your device being lost. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Merch
Merch on this site is coming soon and isn't on sale yet. Sending a “Tell me when it's ready” list isn't an order.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. We may update them – the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: hello@whetulabs.nz.
